Showcase pavilion, Jordan Winery, Healdsburg, CA
Tucked in Sonoma County's Alexander Valley, Jordan Winery overlooks nearly 1,200 acres of rolling hills and vineyards, with three quarters of the land dedicated to natural habitat. The Wafflemat foundation-forming system was recently installed to support a new showcase pavilion being constructed in highly expansive soils. Located on one of the property's highest points, the structure is designed to offer 360 degree views of the surrounding valley via floor-to-ceiling glass walls.
In addition to solving the expansive soils issue, the Wafflemat foundation-forming system also provided another major benefit: 37% less CO2, translating into 8.7 less tons, was produced during the construction process when compared to the alternative 13" uniform thickness foundation considered, as significantly less concrete and steel was utilized with Wafflemat (check out the "Carbon Footprint Analysis" PDF that accompanies this photo sequence for all the details).
Jordan Winery's new pavilion will enjoy the benefits delivered from Wafflemat for years to come. Call us and see if we can do the same for you. We can't promise you'll make a renowned vintage, but we can guarantee the "habitat surrounding your pavilion" will be much more carbon-free!
